Asus released a phone isn’t one it wants to sell

Asus unveiled its latest smartphone, Rog Phone 6 and Rog Phone 6 Pro, in the beginning of summer in India. The announcement however, Asus did not mention when the phone would go for sale.

We called the Asus Rog Phone 6 the first Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 smartphone in India. But we did not realize at the time that Asus was putting sales of its phone indefinitely on hold.

Fast forward nearly two months and there is no evidence for Rog Phone 6 in India. Other phones have been launched following Rog Phone 6 and have been available since. It’s like Asus has forgotten regarding the handset.

Okay, Asus did not totally forget about the phone.

Asus have posted promotional tweets for the device on occasion in August. As you will read below:

Typically, when a smartphone debuts and is expected to be sold on Flipkart in the near future the company will provide an item listing for the item. Within the listing of products there is a possibility to click”Notify me” to be notified “Notify Me” button to receive an email notification mail once the phone is available for sale.

However, for Rog Phone 6 we don’t have any product listings. There isn’t even the product’s feature page on Flipkart. Furthermore, Flipkart does not even mention the phone in its coming sales section.

This product can be available in the Asus India website(opens in new tab). It lists the Notify Me option in the product’s listing.

Why do we launch phones when nobody can purchase it?

The question is we’d like to get answers to from Asus. Asus introduced this phone to July, in India. We aren’t able to mention it as a launch however, it can be described in the context of an announcement.

Why would you advertise the product when there is no plan to sell the product any time soon?

The phone was released in India as the initial Snapdragon 8 Plus Generation 1 phone. However, two other phones went into sale in India today The the OnePlus 10Tand the iQoo 9T.

Another thing to consider is that this kind of thing was seen before, in the case of the launch of the Asus-8z in India. Despite having teased the phone for a long time following its launch on the global market in May 2021 Asus delayed its launch to bring the phone to market in the Indian market. when it was finally launched in India over a year ago in February there was a lot of hype and excitement about the phone faded away because the phone was introduced as an old phone and failed to make it popular here. Is Asus duplicate this mistake with the Rog Phone 6?

Additionally, Asus is rumouredto introduce the new model that will be called Rog Phone 6 on the world market, Rog Phone 6D as well as Rog Phone 6D Ultimate. Both are Dimensity 9000plus models that include Rog Phone 6 and Rog Phone 6 Pro.

We have contacted the company regarding the reason for the slow sales of the phone. We will update this article with the details once we get them.

Whatever the reason behind the delay, I’m hoping Asus solves the issue and makes the phones available for sales as quickly as they can.
